Cocina Club Sunday Brunch

There is a lovely group of food fanatics that put on a Sunday brunch for San Diego epicureans. The food is for the most part organic, and entirely orgasmic. Served in a lazy atmosphere that offers your choice of tables or thai-style lounge areas, the food is fresh and satisfying. I went with a close friend with whom I had a lot of catching up to do. We lazily grazed for 3 hours. I enlisted the help of the head chef and organizer, Jonathan Gage, to arrange a “trust the chef” brunch. he brought split orders or plates to share of his favorite things on the menu. The mango peach mimosas were refreshing and delicious and a bargain at only $3. The first course was a savory, warm cereal with a story almost as fascinating as the chef himself. The Barrio cakes, cornmeal cakes with jalepenos and cheese cooked right in the batter, were topped with diced avocados, lime and salsa. Delicious. everything we tried was unique, fresh and delicious. Be on the look out for Cocina Club, they are hosting amazing gatherings for lovers of food, art, and music.
